Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was one of the first projects to truly come across as a next-generation experience, and the game is still among the console's standard-setters. Along with just being one of the best PS Plus PS5 games, HFW's debut might demonstrate how Sony plans to treat first-party exclusives moving forward. Narratively, the game delivers the goods as well, building nicely upon its predecessor's groundwork. Horizon Forbidden West has a massive and lavish open-world, fine-tuned combat, and epic enemy designs, particularly for the robotic dinosaurs.

As entertaining as those titles are, Horizon Forbidden West was undoubtedly the month's standout game. Resident Evil 7, Scarlet Nexus, Outriders, and The Forgotten City are not only good games in their own right, but they also cover a wide range of genres and gameplay styles. The PS Plus Extra lineup for February 21, 2023, had its share of big names, and quite a few of these new additions to the tier came with native PS5 versions. Although it's a bit short compared to other survival horror titles, there are plenty of frights to be found and an interesting combat mechanic that will challenge players as they make their way through the engrossing and twisting storyline. It's the perfect survival horror release for anyone seeking some Summertime scares and the remastered version greatly enhances the overall look and feel of the game.Īlan Wake Remastered will be available to PS Plus subscribers until August 1st, which is plenty of time to get through its 10-hour runtime. A fantastic horror release that focuses heavily on immersive storytelling and environmental design, players that missed out on this Stephen King-inspired title should jump in headfirst. Although the first game came out back in 2010, it was recently remastered in 2021 and found its way to both the PS4 and PS5. With a new release on the horizon with Alan Wake 2, now is the perfect time to jump into the original release and live Alan's first nightmare.
